The hand-forged blade features superior strength resulting from the change in the structure of the steel when hammered. The blade featured on this Sword is an Iron Wrap 60° High Carbon Steel. The tang, point edges and grooves are then hot forged. The blade is heat treated using a forge and an oil quench tank. The blade is put through flex and shock tests to ensure proper strength. This sword can be fully dis-assembled by removing the pin that holds the tang in place on the handle. Once the saya is removed you will see the carved initials of the sword maker on the Nakago (Tang).

UK LAW ON SWORDS
A law came into effect on 06/04/08 banning all curved swords with a blade length of 50cm or more, there are some exceptions for registered martial artists, re-enactors and Theatrical Groups. An amendment to this act was passed, which came into effect on the 1st of August 2008, which allows curved and samurai swords which are handmade using traditional forging/production methods to be sold without a license. All Swords with straight blade are perfectly legal to buy , sell or own in the UK
